Job summary

Instro Precision Limited in the United Kingdom seeks a Software/Firmware (embedded software) Design Engineer to participate in the specification, design, development and test of new products. You will work with the integrated engineering team on software and firmware aspects, produce design-related documentation, and ensure alignment with ISO 9001:2015.

A requirement is eligibility for SC level security clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience in embedded software/firmware design.
• Ability to produce design documentation (specs, manuals).
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain records of design work and support ISO 9001:2015 compliance.

Department: Engineering
Reporting to: Electronics and Software Team Leader

Software/Firmware (embedded software) Design Engineer will participate in the specification, design, development and test of new products.

• Due to the nature of the work all candidates must be eligible to obtain security clearance to SC level.

Responsibilities

• To work on software and firmware aspects of product design as part of the integrated engineering team.
• To produce design-related documentation. This may include, but is not limited to, specifications, manuals, illustrations, costings and test procedures. Also to check and approve all documentation as required.
• To provide implementation strategies as required for the implementation or change of functions into the equipment.
• To maintain clear records of all design work.
• To operate in line with the Company’s ISO 9001:2015 system.
• To carry out any other related tasks as may be requested from time to time by the Engineering Director.
