Job summary

Reevr Talent Ltd is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to own the software function within a niche engineering business creating advanced electronic systems. You will merge technical leadership, software architecture and hands-on work while guiding the team’s growth and shaping technology direction.

You’ll lead a small software team and collaborate with hardware and engineering functions to deliver technically demanding products.

• Proven experience delivering complex software or control-system solutions.
• Strong software architecture and development experience.

• Background in embedded software, control systems or complex engineering products.

Software Engineering Manager

We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager to take ownership of the software function within a highly specialised engineering business designing and manufacturing complex electronic systems, control equipment and associated technologies.

This is far more than a traditional management role. As Software Engineering Manager, you’ll combine technical leadership, software architecture, hands-on engineering and team development, with genuine influence over the future direction of the technology.

You’ll lead a small software team, work with external development partners and collaborate closely with hardware and engineering teams to deliver technically demanding products.

What You’ll Do

As Software Engineering Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

• Owning the software strategy, architecture and technical roadmap.
• Leading and developing a small internal software team and external development partners.
• Remaining hands-on with embedded software and control systems.
• Working across C, C and C#.
• Driving development across control software, HMIs, automation and fault diagnosis.
• Leading software/hardware integration with wider engineering teams.
• Owning the software lifecycle from requirements through to deployment and commissioning.
• Establishing development standards, coding practices and architectural best practice.
• Championing quality, testing, traceability and regulatory compliance.
• Managing technical risks, project roadmaps and delivery.
• Supporting existing products whilst helping shape the next generation of technology.
