Job summary

Reevr is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to own the software function in a specialised engineering business. You will combine technical leadership, software architecture, hands-on development and team growth to influence the technology roadmap.

You’ll lead a small software team, collaborate with hardware and engineering teams, and drive architecture, quality and regulatory compliance across complex electronic systems.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering complex software or control-system solutions.
• Strong software architecture and development experience.
• Experience with C, C and/or C#; embedded software background.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Software Engineering Manager

We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager to take ownership of the software function within a highly specialised engineering business designing and manufacturing complex electronic systems, control equipment and associated technologies.

This is far more than a traditional management role. As Software Engineering Manager, you’ll combine technical leadership, software architecture, hands-on engineering and team development, with genuine influence over the future direction of the technology.

You’ll lead a small software team, work with external development partners and collaborate closely with hardware and engineering teams to deliver technically demanding products.

What You’ll Do

As Software Engineering Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

• Owning the software strategy, architecture and technical roadmap.
• Leading and developing a small internal software team and external development partners.
• Remaining hands-on with embedded software and control systems.
• Working across C, C and C#.
• Driving development across control software, HMIs, automation and fault diagnosis.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a technically strong Software Engineering Manager who enjoys being close to the engineering, rather than moving entirely away from the technology.

You’ll ideally have:

• Proven experience delivering complex software or control-system solutions.
• Strong software architecture and development experience.
• Experience with C, C and/or C#.
• A background in embedded software, control systems or complex engineering products.
• Strong understanding of requirements, testing and the software development lifecycle.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• The ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on technical leadership.
