Role Overview: We are seeking an exceptional Software Engineer responsible for designing and developing tools and infrastructure used by Traders and Quantitative Researchers. You will collaborate across the firm to provide cutting-edge technology solutions, expand our trading platform, and promote software engineering best practices. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile projects impacting the organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage the day-to-day technology requirements of our proprietary trading systems.
2. Accelerate trading and research analysis workflows by utilizing and expanding DRW’s in-house infrastructure and improving productivity.
3. Evaluate new technologies and identify/deprecate legacy code to enhance our technological stack.
4. Collaborate with engineers, traders, and researchers to design custom frameworks or end-user solutions.
5. Write performance-sensitive code and user-friendly APIs to facilitate access to our data analysis infrastructure.
6. Lead design discussions and conduct code reviews to maintain high standards and code quality.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline.
2. 5+ years of experience building demanding, live systems in Python.
3. In-depth knowledge of Python and current standards (3.8 onwards).
4. Up-to-date knowledge of the Python ecosystem: third-party libraries, packaging, in-built Python libraries.
5. Knowledge of concurrent programming is a major plus.
6. Solid understanding of data structures.
7. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
8. Familiarity with Github Actions.
9. Familiarity with Linux.
10. Ability to mentor others and lead small projects.
11. Ability to work with global tech staff and end users.

Bonus points:

1. Experience in the trading industry.
2. Knowledge of Anaconda.
3. Familiarity with the scientific Python stack (pandas, numpy, scipy, TensorFlow).
