Job summary

Teleplan Forsberg Ltd. in the UK seeks a Software Engineer to work on Positioning, Navigation and Timing projects, including machine vision, sensor integration and data processing for MANTIS and OPTONAV.

You will apply software engineering fundamentals, develop robust components for long-lived systems, and contribute to design reviews, debugging and optimisation in a team environment.

A strong STEM background and practical coding skills across languages are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong programming ability in Python, TypeScript, C# or C++, with Vue.js experience.
• Hands-on experience with object-oriented programming.
• Understanding of modular design, interfaces and test strategies.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based development environment.
• Exposure to data processing, machine vision or navigation/ robotics.
• Experience with multi-threaded, real-time or performance‑sensitive systems.
• Experience with hardware-adjacent software, sensors and external data sources.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software components for complex engineering systems, writing clear, well-structured code for reuse.
• Contribute to projects using rapid iteration cycles while maintaining code quality.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews and technical decisions.
• Debug, profile and optimise behaviour in performance-sensitive systems.
• Document designs, interfaces and assumptions for project lifecycles.
• Adapt skills across projects as requirements evolve.
