Job summary

Saab UK in Fareham seeks a Senior Systems Engineer specialising in Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) and distributed sensing to join the Sensor Systems Radar business. The role focuses on leading architecture, timing distribution, and data fusion across multi-node networks for high-precision radar systems.

You will mentor engineers, develop V&V plans, and drive innovation while ensuring robust system performance and integration with RF, software, and mechanical teams.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in a related field.
• 5–10 years industrial radar, communications or EW systems experience.
• 7+ years in systems engineering focused on PNT and/or distributed sensor systems.
• Proven experience with GNSS and Inertial Navigation.
• Experience with distributed aperture systems or MIMO radar architectures.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for modelling and simulation.
• Experience with MBSE and requirements management tools.
• Familiar with ISO 15288:2023.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design of PNT solutions integrating GNSS and INS.
• Define system-level requirements, interfaces, and performance specs for timing and positioning.
• Design distributed sensing networks and data fusion across remote nodes.
• Develop verification and validation plans and lead hardware-in-the-loop simulations.
• Mentor cross-functional teams and present roadmaps to leadership.
