Job summary

PayPoint plc is hiring a Software Engineer for Parcels Engineering on a fixed-term 1‑year contract. You’ll contribute to the CollectPlus Carrier Management System, supporting thousands of stores and millions of parcels weekly, across backend, in-store, and new POS partnerships.

You will drive deliverables from design through implementation, with autonomy to lead projects, while mentoring juniors and collaborating with senior engineers. The role blends remote and onsite work at Welwyn Garden City.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years' software engineer experience.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Knowledge of C# or Java and ORM (EF).
• SQL skills and relational databases (SQL Server).
• Familiar with DevSecOps and micro-service architectures.
• Experience with AI-powered features and testing tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop Parcel Management systems with current tech.
• Lead integration projects with new Parcel Carriers.
• Migrate apps from on-prem to Azure cloud.
• Deliver against client/industry deadlines.
• Mentor junior teammates and support peers.
• Participate in design, coding, testing and reviews.
