Job description

Looking for a Node.js TypeScript development role where you'll own a business‑critical integration platform, work with modern AWS technologies?

We're looking for a mid level developer to join a well‑established retail organisation undergoing an exciting period of technology transformation. As part of a newly evolving Group IT function, you'll become the key developer for a cloud‑based integration platform connecting key business systems.

This is a backend‑focused development role where you'll take ownership of an existing integration layer, continuing its development while maintaining and enhancing the services already in production.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop and enhance cloud‑native integration services using TypeScript and Node.js
  • Build and maintain AWS serverless applications using services such as Lambda, EventBridge, API Gateway and DynamoDB
  • Develop new integration capabilities between business‑critical systems, including Shopify
  • Investigate and resolve issues across APIs and integration services
  • Contribute to infrastructure improvements using Terraform
  • Work with AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT or Codex to accelerate delivery while maintaining high engineering standards
  • Collaborate with a growing engineering team as the organisation continues investing in its cloud platform
Preferred experience
  • TypeScript and Node.js
  • Building APIs and backend services
  • AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, DynamoDB, S3)
  • Git and modern software development practices
  • Testing and debugging distributed applications
  • AI‑assisted software development tools

You will be confident delivering production code independently while working alongside experienced senior engineers who will provide technical direction and support your continued development.

This is a hybrid role with travel to 2 office locations – 1 day per week in Leamington Spa and 1 day per week in Deborough, with 3 days working from home.

Please note: The successful candidate must have permanent residency in the UK (British Citizenship, Settled Status, ILR). Applications from abroad will not be considered at this time.
