Job summary

RedTech Recruitment is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join a research-centric technology company in Cambridge. The role offers a hybrid work model with a Cambridge office available at least two days per week and a salary of £60,000–£80,000 plus benefits.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in Python, have strong knowledge of Python internals, experience with Docker, and a STEM degree. You will tackle complex problems and collaborate across researchers and engineers.

A fantastic opportunity for experienced Software Engineers to join a highly innovative technology company at the forefront of advanced AI research and development. Location: Cambridge office available (minimum 2 days per week in office)

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 basic per annum + comprehensive benefits package, including private health for family, enhanced pension, etc.

Requirements for Software Engineer – Mid-Level or Senior:

• Proficient programming ability in Python
• Strong understanding of Python concepts such as decorators, generators, context managers and multithreading
• Experience with Docker
• Strong academic background, including degree educated in a STEM subject
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to write high-quality, production-ready code
• Comfortable working both independently and within collaborative engineering teams
• An interest in complex technical challenges, data-driven systems and emerging technologies

Responsibilities for Software Engineer – Mid-Level - Senior:
