Job summary

RedTech Recruitment is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join a world‑leading AI technology company in Cambridge. You will deploy, integrate and optimise ML models within real‑world products, collaborating with software engineers and ML specialists.

Qualifications

  • Strong academic background with a 1st or 2:1 in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Machine Learning, AI or closely related subject.
  • Experience with Python and production-quality code.
  • Commercial or substantial project experience with Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Experience with LangChain and LangGraph.
  • Familiarity with ML frameworks, deployment and inference technologies.
  • Proficiency with NumPy and pandas.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and with a highly technical team.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and integrate new ML models into advanced commercial software products.
  • Work with Large Language Models and AI orchestration frameworks (LangChain/LangGraph).
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers, ML specialists and Security Researchers.
  • Take projects from rapid prototyping to production implementation.
  • Optimize ML models for speed, scale, runtime and memory usage.
  • Help improve the performance and scalability of existing AI systems.
  • Develop innovative features using ML/AI technologies.
  • Explore new technologies to solve complex technical challenges.
  • Build expertise across tech stacks with opportunities to specialise.

Job description

A fantastic opportunity for a Machine Learning Engineer to join a world-leading AI technology company developing cutting-edge software solutions. This is an ideal opportunity for an ML Engineer who has a strong academic background and experience working with LLM technologies. You will work alongside Software Engineers, Machine Learning specialists, and the wider tech team to deploy, integrate and optimise innovative machine learning models within highly advanced, real-world products.

Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office

Salary: £55,000 to £80,000 per annum + excellent benefits

Requirements for Machine Learning Engineer:

  • Strong commercial experience in a Machine Learning Engineering, AI Engineering, Software Engineering or closely related role
  • Strong experience working with Python and the ability to write production-quality code
  • Commercial or substantial project experience working with Large Language Models
  • Experience with LangChain and/or LangGraph
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks, model deployment, and inference technologies
  • Experience using Python data and matrix manipulation libraries such as NumPy and pandas
  • This company highly values a top academic history, so is looking for a 1st or 2:1 in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence or another closely related subject with a minimum AAB at A Level, or international equivalent
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working autonomously and making technical decisions, while also collaborating closely with a highly technical team

Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:

  • Python memory management and performance optimisation
  • GPU optimisation and acceleration

Responsibilities for Machine Learning Engineer:

  • Deploy and integrate new machine learning models into advanced commercial software products
