Software Engineers will lead technical development and delivery at the team and sometimes lab level. They can act as Line Managers, co-leading with the Team PO for overall delivery, responsible for tech delivery, line management, and app ownership alongside their engineering output. Others will operate as Individual Contributors, specializing in particular technology areas with a narrower focus.

JOB TITLE: Software Engineer

SALARY: £81,999 - £91,110

LOCATION: London

HOURS: Full-time - 35 hours per week

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, involving at least two days per week at our London hub.

In the Machine Learning as a Service lab, we design, build, and operate the bank's Machine Learning, Data Science, and Analytics platforms. Our work includes software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, automation, and tooling.

What you might do

• Practice scrum within our engineering team.
• Automate software and infrastructure delivery using Terraform, Python, Jenkins, Harness, and Cloud Build.
• Build and improve an ML cloud platform on GCP.
• Gain exposure to Google tooling including GKE, BigQuery, Vertex AI, Cloud Build, and more.
• Build, test, and deploy customized Workbench Instances.
• Build scalable software using Python.
• Support Data Science teams in deploying models on GCP.
• Innovate with new tools and approaches.
• Help shape strategic directions.
• Coach engineers and influence software design.
