As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank Digital and Platform Services, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Execute software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to build solutions or solve technical problems.
• Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
• Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reports from large, diverse data sets to improve software applications and systems.
• Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and explore new technologies.
• Support a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with practical experience in Java and related tech stack.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database querying languages.
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Knowledge of software applications and technical processes within disciplines like cloud, AI, ML, mobile, etc.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
• Exposure to cloud technologies.
• Proficiency in coding in one or more languages; AWS knowledge is a plus.
