Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Software Engineer III to join the platform engineering team. You will build and maintain services powering the code intelligence platform, connecting semantic-tree data to CI/CD and controls workflows, and owning components in production.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement automated checks, ensure reliability, and contribute to developer workflow improvements. Mentorship from senior engineers will be available as the platform evolves.

Qualifications

• Experience with static analysis, ASTs, code parsing, or structural code representations.
• Familiarity with search/indexing systems and large-scale data pipelines.
• Exposure to SDLC processes and compliance/controls engineering.
• Experience in regulated enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling integrations.
• Interest in mentoring or supporting junior engineers.
• Experience working in agile development environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable services and pipelines for semantic-tree and code-index data.
• Implement integration points with CI/CD pipelines, PR checks, policy engines, and developer tooling.
• Translate compliance and control requirements into automated checks against code structure.
• Write tests, monitoring, and documentation for owned components.
• Debug and resolve issues across the stack, from data pipelines to integrations.
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews, contributing ideas to improve architecture.
• Collaborate with control owners and engineering teams to understand usage needs.
• Take ownership of reliability and correctness in production environments.
• Apply best practices in software engineering and automation.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Stay current with industry trends in code intelligence and compliance automation.
