Job summary

J.P. Morgan UK is seeking a Software Engineer to join the International Consumer Bank, delivering reliable, customer-focused digital banking experiences. You will work in a distributed, diverse team, applying modern Java/Spring, cloud, and DevOps practices while ensuring security and resiliency across services.

You will contribute to full‑stack development, automation, and incident management, partnering with cross‑functional teams to meet evolving customer needs and business goals.

Qualifications

• Experience with the full software development lifecycle.
• Proficiency in Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Experience with AWS and Terraform.
• REST API design and integration knowledge.
• Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD.
• Front-end familiarity with TypeScript/React preferred.
• Security and resiliency awareness in design and coding.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development teams to enhance the developer experience, providing tools and infrastructure that support agile methodologies and CI/CD.
• Identify problems, propose solutions, and execute software design, development, operations, and technical troubleshooting.
• Develop secure, high-quality full stack production code, and review and debug code.
• Support the products you build through the full lifecycle, including production support and incident management.
• Collaborate with teams to understand the functional requirements of existing complex business applications.
• Apply knowledge of SDLC toolchain and AI coding assist tools to improve quality, delivery speed, and productivity, with peer review and secure coding standards.
• Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events exploring new technologies.
• Promote a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
