Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Software Engineer II to join a payments-focused software engineering team. You will design, develop, and troubleshoot software components for scalable, secure financial applications deployed in private cloud, moving toward AWS, with Kubernetes orchestration.

As part of an agile team, you will contribute to design, testing, and analytics while adopting enterprise AI-assisted tooling and secure coding practices to deliver high-quality software in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Experience with modern programming languages and database querying languages in a large corporate environment.
Knowledge of distributed tech like Kafka and NoSQL databases.
Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams to achieve goals.
Experience across the full SDLC.
Experience with enterprise AI-assisted development tools and ability to validate AI outputs.
Understanding of responsible AI use, secure handling of data, resiliency and security considerations.
Exposure to CI/CD, App Resiliency, and Security.

Responsibilities

Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting.
Writes secure, high-quality code with limited guidance.
Designs and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems.
Uses SDLC tools to improve automation value.
Tackles basic technical problems through troubleshooting.
Analyzes large data sets to inform decisions for secure, stable development.
Leverages AI coding assist tools to improve quality, speed, and productivity, with peer review.
