Job summary

Candescent is hiring a Java full-stack engineer in Dundee to design and develop scalable banking solutions. You will build microservices with Spring Boot, integrate NoSQL data stores, and craft RESTful APIs while contributing to front-end components with HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, and Angular.

Join an Agile team focused on high-quality code, TDD/BDD practices, and robust CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Maven/Gradle, and Docker in a cloud-ready environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in CS or related field required.
• 2–4 years software design and development experience.
• 2+ years in preferred technology stack (Java full stack).
• Strong Java, Spring Boot, and REST API experience.
• Front-end skills: HTML5, JS, CSS, Angular.
• Experience in CI/CD tooling and containerization (Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, Docker).
• Familiarity with NoSQL, JPA/Hibernate, and microservices.
• Experience in agile environments and TDD/BDD practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field
• A minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in software design and development
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in preferred technology stack

• Documentation and API contract generation
• Strong understanding of responsible AI usage, including code correctness, security, data privacy, and licensing considerations.
