Job summary

X-on Health in the United Kingdom is seeking a software engineer to join a collaborative agile team working on backend APIs and customer-facing websites within primary healthcare.

You will translate business requirements into technical design, contribute to architecture, diagnose issues, and help improve security, performance, and reliability across systems, using PHP/Laravel, React, MySQL, and Docker as core tools.

Qualifications

• Experience with PHP and Laravel in a product development lifecycle.
• Proficiency with React and modern frontend frameworks.
• Knowledge of MySQL and GitLab workflows.
• Strong understanding of OOD and design patterns.
• Experience with test frameworks and CI/CD practices.

Job description

You will join a collaborative agile team of software engineers and QA testers across all experience levels. Working on diverse projects from backend APIs to customer-facing websites, you will directly shape innovative technology solutions within primary healthcare.

Responsibilities:

• Work within an agile team to solve technical challenges and develop new functionality to our products and services
• Contribute towards translating business requirements into technical design and development projects and tasks
• Contribute in architectural and design discussions
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
• Identify and contribute towards developing solutions to improve system security, performance, scalability, and reliability
• Adhere to best software engineering practices and principles
• Collaborate with other members of the team through remote and in-person collaboration, work together with all stakeholders to understand and progress projects and tasks
