Job summary

AI Security Institute is seeking Software Engineers to join the Core Technology Team. You will work on research-oriented software and infrastructure, within small teams, tackling real-world AI safety challenges.

You will collaborate with world-class researchers and engineers, mentoring from leadership and working with cutting-edge tools on AWS and open-source projects like Inspect. This role offers hybrid work in London with opportunities for international collaboration.

Qualifications

• Writing production quality code at fast pace.
• Designing, shipping, and maintaining complex tech products.
• Improving technical standards across a team through mentoring and feedback.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with world-class research teams (scientists and engineers).

Responsibilities

• Add a feature to sandbox plugins for Inspect with safe execution of arbitrary code.
• Implement support for a new class of open-weights model on the hosting platform.
• Design custom infrastructure for new research projects.
• Collaborate with the open-source community on Inspect features.
• Assist evaluation testing and debugging across the lab SDK.
