Lorum is hiring a Frontend Software Engineer to join our London web team. This hybrid role requires 3 days per week in the Fitzrovia office and focuses on Treasury Services and Clearing UI.

You will ship production features in TypeScript, collaborate with product and design, write clean tests, and help improve frontend architecture and performance.

This is a fast-paced fintech role with real ownership and impact on user experience across internal portals and client-facing interfaces.

Software Engineer Frontend

About Lorum

The structural conflict at the centre of correspondent banking is not technological. It is economic. Banks earn revenue from their balance sheets: they lend deposits, capture FX spreads, and hold funds as long as it is rational to do so. Clearing, the act of releasing funds quickly and predictably, competes directly with those economics. An institution designed to lend has a structural incentive to hold deposits; an institution designed to clear has an incentive to release them. When one institution does both, clearing loses. The result is unpredictable settlement, trapped capital, and a correspondent network shrinking by design.

Why Lorum

Lorum was founded on a different premise: clearing as the business, not a byproduct. The model has been operational since 2023 and grew 55x in 2025, with USD clearing now the majority of volumes alongside a growing treasury offering. We have applied for a U.S. national trust bank charter. The people we hire now will build the clearing and treasury infrastructure it unlocks.

The role

We’re looking for a Frontend Engineer to join our web team in London. We’re building new features and teams around Treasury Services and Clearing & Custody, and this role will build the UIs for those products alongside our existing Ops Portal the internal tool that lets the business scale (fee setup and more). This is a backfill on an existing team, so you’ll be able to move quickly and have real impact from day one.

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship high-quality frontend features end-to-end
• Collaborate with product and design to turn requirements into polished user experiences
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and participate in code review
• Help improve frontend architecture, tooling, and performance
• Debug and resolve production issues affecting the frontend

Success in the first 3 to 12 months

• Be shipping production code within your first couple of months, delivering alongside and with guidance from the team
• By month 3, be fully up to speed with our codebase and domain, and actively contributing to our growing frontend/UI community
• Take ownership of features and areas of the frontend as you grow with a small frontend team, ownership comes early
• Contribute at least one frontend architecture/tooling improvement
• Collaborate effectively with design and product cross-functionally

Ideal Candidate

Must Haves

• Professional experience shipping production frontend code in TypeScript
• We don’t require a specific framework strong, idiomatic TypeScript is what matters most. If you write clean TypeScript, we’re confident you can work with whatever framework we use
• Able to work hybrid, 3 days/week in the London office

Preferred

• Experience with React, our main framework (preferred rather than essential)

Nice to haves

• Experience with design systems or component libraries
• Experience with testing frameworks (we use Cypress and Vitest; Jest or Playwright experience is just as relevant)
• Familiarity with CI/CD and modern frontend build tooling
• Some full-stack or backend exposure
• Previous experience in a fintech company
