Job summary

Advanced Diagnostics Ltd is seeking a smart Software Engineer to join the Reverse Engineering Team in Nuneaton, UK. The role focuses on cryptanalysis, analysis of microcontroller architectures, and development of C/C++ tools for automotive diagnostics.

Responsibilities include logging vehicle communications (CAN Bus, K-Line), using IDA Pro, and developing in-house routines with Python. Familiarity with cryptography and hardware security is a plus. Regular office presence is required.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Automotive/Electronic/CS or related field.
• Proficiency in C and embedded systems development.
• Understanding of software development methodologies.
• Familiarity with automotive diagnostic/electronics concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Cryptanalysis of algorithms and cryptographic topics.
• Analyze various microcontroller architectures for tools.
• Develop C/C++ applications for our tools.
• Develop Python routines for vehicle communication.
• Work with CAN Bus, K-Line logging and related protocols.
• Participate in Scrum meetings and use Jira for task tracking.
