Job Description

Our client, an engineering company, is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Controls Systems for a 6-month contract in Chesterfield, UK.

Role

As a Controls Systems Software Engineer, you will be responsible for site installation, retesting, surveys, full system testing, CFAT, SAT, and installation. You should have experience in system specification, design, development, testing, and hands-on experience with Siemens S7 PLCs and WinCC SCADA systems.

Main Responsibilities

• Deliver project modules including PLC, SCADA, Testing, Networking, Documentation, and Hardware design.
• Ensure projects meet technical and quality standards.
• Identify project opportunities and variations.
• Adhere to company quality processes and procedures.
• Standardize and modularize systems to enable reuse of modules.

Experience & Qualifications

• Strong understanding of control panels, electrical installation, and instrumentation solutions.
• Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Control Systems, or relevant discipline, or status as an Incorporated Engineer or working towards professional registration.

Desirable experience includes developing project modules such as PLC code, SCADA scripts, Mimics, and communication drivers; peer reviewing documents; supporting design studies; developing O&M documentation, FDS, DDS, test specifications, and testing methodologies; creating site work documentation; and handling site activities including risk assessments, method statements, and system shipping.

Important: The successful candidate must obtain SC clearance before starting.
