Job summary

Addepar is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to advance the Client Experience Frameworks group, owning a design system and component library used across products. You will build framework-agnostic UI components, ensure performance and accessibility, and collaborate to migrate teams to standardized tooling and practices.

You’ll influence architectural direction, expand tooling, documentation, and developer experience, while learning multiple frontend frameworks and aligning with web standards.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with at least one modern UI framework (React, Vue, Svelte, Angular, Ember, or similar).
• Strong TypeScript or JavaScript fundamentals.
• Familiarity with build tools and bundlers (Webpack, Vite, or similar).
• BS/MS/PhD in CS or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain framework-agnostic UI components for multiple frontend technologies.
• Own technical direction and drive adoption of the design system across the organization.
• Contribute to developer experience through build tooling, testing infrastructure, documentation, and automation.
• Participate in design reviews with a high bar for component architecture, API design, and consistency.
• Champion performance, accessibility, and web standards as core concerns in all deliverables.
• Learn and work across multiple frontend frameworks and relate them to underlying web standards.

• We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Client Experience Frameworks group. Our team owns the UI platform that every product engineer at Addepar builds with - a design system and component library that must work equally well across multiple frameworks and serve a global product used by thousands of investment professionals
• This isn’t a product feature role, instead you’ll build the tools, systems, and primitives that make other engineers productive. You’ll think deeply about web standards, component architecture, and how to deliver a consistent, performant UI across a diverse and evolving technical stack
• You’ll own technical direction, drive adoption across the organization, and make pragmatic architecture decisions that balance long‑term scalability with real‑world constraints
• Build and maintain framework‑agnostic UI components that serve product teams working across multiple frontend technologies simultaneously
• Support adoption of the design system across the product engineering organization, helping teams integrate and migrate
• Contribute to developer experience through build tooling, testing infrastructure, documentation, and automation
• Write declarative, well‑tested, and accessible component code with attention to detail and long‑term maintainability
• Learn and work across multiple frontend frameworks, developing a deep understanding of how they relate to underlying web standards
• Participate in design reviews with a high bar for component architecture, API design, and consistency
• Champion performance, accessibility, and web standards as first‑class concerns in everything the team ships

You’re comfortable asking questions, giving and receiving feedback in code review, and learning from more experienced engineersYou have exposure to build tools and bundlers (Webpack, Vite, or similar) — you don’t need to be an expert, but you’re not afraid of configurationYou have a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a similar technical field (or equivalent practical experience)You have strong written and verbal communication skillsYou have at least 1 year of experience as a professional software engineer (internships count)You have experience with at least one modern UI framework (React, Vue, Svelte, Angular, Ember, or similar) and curiosity about how they work under the hoodYou care about writing clean, generic, reusable code and have an eye for detailYou have solid TypeScript or JavaScript fundamentals and a desire to deepen your expertiseYou have some familiarity with web standards: how the DOM works, browser APIs, and how components render and update
