Job Description

As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the IP Platforms database product line, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm's state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will execute software solutions through the design, development, and troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, gaining skills and experience to grow within your role.

Job Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with product teams to leverage AI technologies to enhance customer experience, drive efficiencies, and build automation across the database product line.
2. Implement standard software solutions, including design, development, and troubleshooting.
3. Write secure, high-quality code in at least one programming language with limited guidance.
4. Design, develop, and troubleshoot considering upstream and downstream systems and technical implications.
5. Utilize tools within the Software Development Life Cycle to improve automation and value.
6. Apply troubleshooting skills to resolve basic technical problems.
7. Analyze large, diverse data sets to identify issues and support decision-making for secure, stable applications.
8. Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for secure, stable code development.
9. Contribute to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

1. Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 2+ years of applied experience.
2. Proficiency in Python programming.
3. Fundamental understanding of AI, ML, and LLM concepts, terminology, and technology, preferably with hands-on experience.
4. Understanding of databases and database technologies.
5. Practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
6. Experience in coding, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and query languages.
7. Self-motivated, eager to learn, research, and develop innovative solutions.
8. Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
9. Emerging knowledge of AI, ML, or LLM domain.
