Tailscale, a fully distributed company, is hiring a Software Engineer, AI Enablement in the UK to help scale AI-assisted development across our engineering org.

You'll join a small team reporting to our co-founder, building tools and workflows that empower engineers to work faster and safer with AI. Candidates should have 5+ years in software engineering and a proven track record building internal tooling.

Formación

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on fluency with modern AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Pi, or similar).
• Experience building and shipping internal tools or developer automation.
• Strong written and verbal communication and advocacy skills.
• Ability to balance AI adoption with safety and autonomy.
• Comfort with ambiguity and self-directed prioritization.
• Product or systems thinking to identify high-leverage opportunities.

Responsabilidades

• Define and drive internal AI-enablement roadmap.
• Collaborate on Aperture by Tailscale, the AI gateway internal and product-facing.
• Build and iterate tools, workflows, and practices for engineers to gain real value from coding agents.
• Identify high-leverage AI opportunities across teams and enable adoption.
• Establish guardrails and documentation for safe AI-generated code, advocating internally.
• Track adoption and report impact of AI tooling to leadership.
