Job summary

Hargreaves Lansdown group is seeking two Software Engineers to join the Technical Excellence team, supporting AI capability maturity and Modernisation of Technology objectives. You will help build, enhance, and support AI-enabled tooling and automation that underpin our engineering platform, enabling teams across the organisation to deliver software more efficiently and effectively.

You will write high quality code, collaborate with the team to deliver features, and maintain secure coding

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of development languages and practical coding experience.
• Appreciation of database design and secure coding practices.
• Proficient with version control and project tracking tools.
• Understanding of SDLC and OO design patterns.
• Clear, concise documentation and planning skills.
• Ability to work independently and in an agile team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Write high quality code adhering to corporate and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver new features for the product team.
• Provide engineering support for existing applications.
• Maintain awareness of secure coding practices.
• Review others' code for conformance to standards.
• Develop and evidence automated tests alongside code.
• Document solutions to agreed team standards.
• Comment code to high standards and keep it well-maintained.
• Learn and adopt new technologies embraced by the team.
• Cultivate relationships within the wider Digital department.
• Participate in schemes to support the product team.
