Job summary

Open GI in Worcester is seeking a software developer with 2-3 years of experience to design, build and maintain high-quality code using C# and Java. You’ll work within an Agile team, translate user stories into real features, and help improve the software lifecycle. The role emphasizes code quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

You will contribute to a dynamic, inclusive tech culture and engage with the developer community while delivering responsive, scalable applications.

Qualifications

  • Typically 2-3 years of software development experience.
  • Experience in C# and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
  • Experience in Java and Web Service Development.
  • Experience in unit testing and code reviews.
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and frameworks.
  • Experience with Gradle and Git pull requests.

  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable code.
  • Ensure high performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

Your key responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code

What you'll need to succeed
  • Typically, 2-3 years of software development experience
  • Working Experience supporting software in a production environment
  • Working Experience in C# and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
  • Experience in Java
  • Experience in Web Service Development
  • Working experience of code review practices
  • Experience in Unit Testing
  • Working experience in at least one Agile Framework
  • Experience of Gradle
  • Experience working with Agile Programming methods
  • Working knowledge of GIT usages and pull request etiquette
