Job summary

Innova Recruitment supports a Manchester-based digital product business hiring a Software Engineer specialising in .NET Core, Azure and AI. You will build scalable APIs, modernise the platform and help embed AI into development workflows.

You’ll join a cross-functional squad, work on REST APIs, cloud-native services, and contribute to AI-assisted engineering within a collaborative environment, with hybrid working in Central Manchester.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience developing applications with latest C# and .NET.Core.
• Experience building REST APIs and backend services.
• Good knowledge of SQL Server and Azure.
• CI/CD and automated testing experience.
• Curiosity around AI, LLMs and the future of software development.
• Experience using Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or openness to adopting them.
• Experience in product-led engineering teams.
• React and TypeScript experience.
• Exposure to PHP or Laravel.
• Azure DevOps and Docker.

Responsibilities

Software Engineer / .NET Core, Azure, AI - Permanent Employment

Manchester / Hybrid

We're working with a growing digital product business that's investing heavily in its engineering capability, modernising its platform and embedding AI into the heart of how software is designed, built and delivered.

This isn't about adding another chatbot. It's about giving engineers the freedom to experiment with AI-assisted development and agentic workflows that genuinely improves productivity and product outcomes.

The opportunity

You'll join a cross-functional product squad building customer-facing products used by millions of members in the loyalty and rewards space.

While the core platform is built on modern Microsoft technologies, you'll also have the opportunity to contribute across the wider technology estate where required as the business continues its platform modernisation.

What you'll be doing

• Building scalable applications and APIs using C# and .NET.Core
• Developing cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure
• Embedding quality engineering principles that produce clean, maintainable and well-tested software
• Working closely with Product, UX and QA in a collaborative product squad
• Exploring AI-assisted development to improve engineering productivity
• Helping implement agentic workflows that automate repetitive engineering processes
• Continuously improving performance, scalability and developer experience

What we're looking for

• An appreciation of modern engineering practices including CI/CD and automated testing
• Curiosity around AI, LLMs and the future of software development
• Someone already using tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or someone genuinely excited to adopt them
• Experience working in product-led engineering teams
• React and TypeScript experience
• Exposure to PHP or Laravel
• Azure DevOps and Docker
