Overview

Are you a Software Engineer with outstanding Python skills? Do you take a methodical and analytical approach to problem-solving in your day-to-day work? Join us in working on our Visual Quality test framework, where you'll develop and maintain new features and integrations, contribute to project requirements, and report to senior stakeholders. Our test frameworks are central to our codec development, helping us enhance and validate our technology. Working within an Agile (scrum-based) team, you'll influence sprint content and development direction.

V-Nova, based in London, specializes in data compression technologies utilizing AI and parallel processing, with applications across various sectors. Our innovations are protected by over 1000 international patents, and we develop products that test, prove, and improve our technology portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Develop features, integrate new codec tools and types, and maintain our comprehensive in-house test and visual quality frameworks for testing codec-related products.
• Understand project scopes, break down requirements/stories, set acceptance criteria, and define test cases.
• Provide clear progress updates and document requirements and completed work.
• Select appropriate tools and infrastructure for visual quality testing within the framework.
• Debug, identify root causes, and resolve defects in our test frameworks.
• Launch testing campaigns for various use cases to evaluate our codec releases and their integration into different video encoding and playback scenarios.
• Review design and development work of colleagues in the test group.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, contributing to planning and refinement meetings, and daily stand-ups.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience developing high-performance, multi-threaded Python applications, including Flask, SQL, and database integration.
• Hands-on experience with REST, HTTP, JSON, and Docker.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide precise progress updates and documentation.
• Experience working in Agile environments using Scrum or Kanban, with tools like Jira.
• Knowledge of continuous integration processes, including source control, version control, build creation, and testing.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with test frameworks such as Pytest or Google Test.
• Skills in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js are a bonus, as is experience with AI tools for automation.
• Experience with BDD testing tools like Cucumber or Spock.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud solutions.
• Understanding of system architecture, networking, and video quality metrics.
• Data analytics or data science experience.
• Experience with mobile test automation for Android and iOS, and UI automation with Cypress/JS/TS.
