Job summary

Ocho in Craigavon is hiring multiple Software Engineers (Mid to Senior) to join a brand-new cloud-based client portal on AWS. You will work across existing product lines, including forecasting, order management and temperature control, helping move critical systems into the cloud.

We welcome strong Java developers who may gain exposure to cloud-native work; the team collaborates closely with product, business and engineering colleagues in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building Java applications with Spring or Spring Boot.
• Experience with SQL and Oracle technologies (including PL/SQL).
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming fundamentals.
• Experience contributing to CI/CD pipelines and full SDLC delivery.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Experience in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Java applications with Spring Boot.
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle from requirements to production.
• Work with Oracle databases, including PL/SQL for some roles.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and improve code quality and testing.
• Collaborate with product, business and engineering teams.
• Explain technical decisions clearly and share knowledge with the team.
• Pick up cloud-native and AWS work as the platform grows.

Software Engineers (x5, Mid to Senior) – Craigavon

At a Glance

• Five openings across mid and senior level
• Craigavon-based. On site five days a week for the first six months, then hybrid (five office days a fortnight)
• Java and Spring Boot first, with Angular or AWS a bonus
• Work on a major new cloud platform and the products that keep the business moving

Role Overview

Several engineers are moving onto a brand-new cloud-based client portal on AWS, and these new roles will keep the existing product lines moving, including forecasting, order management and temperature control. You’ll work in a collaborative team on real systems with a direct impact on global clinical trials. Strong Java developers who haven’t had much AWS exposure are welcome, because there’s a route into cloud-native work.
