Job summary

RS Group is hiring a Software Engineer to design, build, test, and support modern applications and cloud-based solutions that power our client platform. You will work with React, TypeScript, Node.js and AWS, applying DevOps practices like CI/CD, containerisation, and Infrastructure as Code to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions.

You will collaborate with a supportive engineering team and have opportunities to mentor junior engineers while contributing to innovative product

Qualifications

• Experience with cloud infrastructure services (AWS/Azure) including serverless tech.
• Containerisation experience with Docker, Nomad or Kubernetes.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• CI/CD pipelines and automation (GitLab CI, CircleCI, Jenkins, etc.).
• Knowledge of QA, performance testing and system monitoring tools.
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• AWS certifications would be a big plus.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building, testing, automating, and supporting infrastructure and application components.
• Deploying software and services using Terraform and other DevOps tools.
• Mentoring junior engineers within the team.
• Benchmarking and optimizing code performance at component level.
• Ensuring security of deployed code and using tooling to assist in this regard.

The Opportunity

Join our team as a Software Engineer and help build, test and support modern applications and cloud-based solutions that power our client platform. You'll work with technologies including React, TypeScript, Node.js and AWS, using DevOps practices such as CI/CD, containerisation and Infrastructure as Code to deliver scalable, secure and high-performing solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a modern tech stack, develop your technical expertise, and play a key role in shaping innovative products while collaborating with a supportive engineering team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing, building, testing, automating, and supporting integral infrastructure and application components within our client platform
• Deploying software and services through emerging DevOps tools such as Terraform
• Begin mentoring more junior engineers within the team
• Benchmarking and optimisation of code performance at a component level
• Security of the deployed code and understanding of the tooling available to assist in this regard

What You'll Bring

• Some experience with cloud infrastructure services (in AWS, Azure or similar), including serverless technologies.
