Job summary

Connect Group Plc is seeking a Software Engineer to join our R&D team in Bournemouth, UK, in a hybrid role. You will design, implement, and maintain software platforms for advanced scientific products, collaborating with firmware and hardware teams to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • C#/.NET development experience in Visual Studio.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles.
  • WPF or MVVM is essential.
  • Experience with .NET-compatible testing frameworks (NUnit).
  • Working knowledge of Git and Agile development environments.
  • Clear oral and written communication skills across disciplines.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and collaborative working approach.

Responsibilities

  • Develop device control systems for imaging, movement, and measurement.
  • Implement motion and imaging profiles for existing systems.
  • Own triage of issues in legacy software.
  • Interface with firmware and hardware teams.
  • Expand unit testing coverage and improve software stability.
  • Refactor code to reduce technical debt.
  • Participate in Agile planning with cross-functional teams.

  • Documenting technical work clearly and concisely for internal use.
What We're Looking For
