Job summary

Connect Group Plc is seeking a Software Engineer to join our R&D team in Bournemouth, UK, in a hybrid role. You will design, implement, and maintain software platforms for advanced scientific products, collaborating with firmware and hardware teams to deliver robust solutions.

The ideal candidate has a degree in a related field and C#/.NET experience in Visual Studio, plus OO design, MVVM/WPF, NUnit, Git, and Agile practices.

Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
C#/.NET development experience in Visual Studio.
Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles.
WPF or MVVM is essential.
Experience with .NET-compatible testing frameworks (NUnit).
Working knowledge of Git and Agile development environments.
Clear oral and written communication skills across disciplines.
Strong problem-solving mindset and collaborative working approach.

Responsibilities

Develop device control systems for imaging, movement, and measurement.
Implement motion and imaging profiles for existing systems.
Own triage of issues in legacy software.
Interface with firmware and hardware teams.
Expand unit testing coverage and improve software stability.
Refactor code to reduce technical debt.
Participate in Agile planning with cross-functional teams.
Document technical work clearly for internal use.
