Transportation Financial Systems (TFS) is one of the largest technological components within the transportation organization. These systems are a cornerstone to the success of all global program launches including retail expansions into new geographies and the establishment of new transportation arcs. TFS provides an end-to-end financial solution for all financial transactions including tax integration, financial document creation & management, expense auditing, accounting, payments, and cost allocation functions. We leverage the latest machine learning technologies to develop highly scalable next generation products driving real time financial accounting, reporting, and business insights.
Payments Services are the foundations to these financial systems, which enables us to automate carrier payments. We support a large variety of customers from large transportation organizations to small business and individual Flex drivers. We delight our carrier's experience by ensuring accurate and on-time payments while meeting regional compliance.
Key job responsibilities
What will you own?
• You will own managing a team of 8-10 engineers within Transportation Financial System. You will ensure growth of SDEs reporting to you via long term technical solves built by your team.
• You will own a highly scalable system that can handle billions of transactions for payments operating at upto 5000 TPS
• You embrace latest technologies to manage cross cutting system. This requires building scalable systems that are far from trivial and involves deep business understanding and tech acumen.
• You will own the 3-year technical roadmap, in close collaboration with Product Managers, to build core capabilities in the new NAWS payment architecture and migrate ~70B$ of WW annual payment volume.
• You will work with upstream and downstream partner teams to build enterprise wide solutions to monitor payment lifecycle to deliver faster, accurate and on-time payments.
• You will own implementing company and org wide policies for health and security of our systems, and implement best engineering practices to continually reduce operational load in running these systems.
• You are responsible for driving innovation and next-gen solution vision for your area in collaboration with Sr SDEs and PEs
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
