Job summary

Mexa Solutions LTD is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead a high-performing team building brand new SaaS products. You will guide 8-12 engineers, drive AI integration, and own product quality.

In this hands-off leadership role you’ll line-manage, monitor performance, foster collaboration, and push continuous improvement as the company scales globally. This is a predominantly remote position with monthly travel to a near-Portsmouth office.

Software Development Manager

£90 - 100k basic

Predominantly remote with once a month near Portsmouth

Your new opportunity…

You'll be leading a team of 8 - 12 Staff/Senior Engineers within the business as they build out new products and inject AI into their platforms.

This is a hands off role, where you'll be line managing individuals, monitoring performance and owning the standard of products being created, ensuring long-term performance and productivity.

A key part of this role will be fostering and promoting a collaborative, productive environment where your reports are motivated to share ideas and improve process.

Although extremely well established with a huge customer base, they are continuing to grow and develop new products whilst embracing AI and it's capabilities.

What you'll bring…

You've come from a strong development background but your passion now lies in people management and inspiring others.

Some skills and knowledge you'll bring:

• Extensive experience of managing a development team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong enthusiasm for AI and other modern practices.
• Strong experience in managing and monitoring engineering performance and implementing and driving continuous improvement.
• A background in hands on Software Development and experience in the following tech stack: NestJS/NodeJS, Redis, TypeScript, SQL Server (other tech backgrounds will be considered).
• The ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the business.
