Michael Page is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead an internal team of 10 developers in a hybrid role based in Doncaster. You’ll oversee delivery of software solutions, plan projects, and mentor engineers to improve ways of working.

The role emphasises collaboration with stakeholders, governance of the SDLC, and helping the business adopt new technologies while maintaining high-quality outputs.

• Lead the application development team to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of application development projects.
• Improve ways of working.
• Contribute to the teams AI journey.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure applications meet business requirements.
• Manage the software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Ensure that development practices follow industry standards and best practices.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills and performance.

Profile

Must haves:

• Proven experience leading and developing teams
• 3-5 years' management experience
• Strong understanding of software delivery, workflow management, prioritisation and managing competing demands based on risk, impact and urgency
• Experience managing budgets, costs, resources and supplier relationships within an IT environment
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and build trusted relationships across the business.
• The ability to manage challenging situations, negotiate effectively and resolve conflicts.
• Experience developing talent, identifying skills gaps and supporting recruitment, succession planning and team capability.
• Ideally come from a Software Development background and progressed into management
