Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting on behalf of a UK Retailer to hire a Software Development Manager who will lead an internal team of 10 developers. The role is hybrid with 3 days on site in Doncaster, with an initial emphasis on spending more time on site to get to know the team and the wider business.

You will oversee development projects, drive delivery and quality, mentor engineers, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure applications meet business requirements and adhere to best practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading and developing teams
• 3-5 years' management experience
• Strong understanding of software delivery, workflow management, prioritisation and managing competing demands based on risk, impact and urgency
• Experience managing budgets, costs, resources and supplier relationships within an IT environment
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and build trusted relationships across the business.
• The ability to manage challenging situations, negotiate effectively and resolve conflicts.
• Experience developing talent, identifying skills gaps and supporting recruitment, succession planning and team capability.
• Ideally come from a Software Development background and progressed into management
