Software Development Engineer, Amazon Business

The Amazon Business team is building a development team to disrupt the way businesses worldwide purchase their supplies. Launched in 2015, Amazon Business reached its first $1B in its first year and $35B in 2022. Our team focuses on building solutions that enable business customers to buy products confidently and at the right price, across multiple devices, countries, and regions. Our customers include professionals, businesses, and institutions that buy in high frequency or in bulk, with needs different from traditional Amazon customers.

You and your team will be responsible for all aspects of the customer experience—from the visual interface to back-end services. You will work with new technologies to improve usability, performance, and scalability, helping to redefine standards in the business ecommerce market.

Your role involves translating business requirements into technical solutions and delivering operationally stable systems that enhance customer experience. Candidates should demonstrate strong ownership, a passion for customer satisfaction, and a results-oriented mindset.

Key job responsibilities

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers.
• Contributed to system architecture and design, including reliability and scalability considerations.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, C++, or C# with object-oriented design skills.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices, including SDLC, coding standards, code reviews, source control, continuous deployment, testing, and operational excellence.

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience with full SDLC, including coding standards, build processes, testing, and operations.
