DESCRIPTION

Amazon is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Full-stack Software Development Engineer to join the EU Prime Savings or EU Prime Speed tech team.

** This is a fixed 12-month contract on-site role for either of our offices in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Munich or Luxembourg. Apply if you are located already in one of those locations and have a valid work permit. **

Software Development Engineers will be responsible for the design, development, delivery and support of large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications and tools. This job requires you to hit the ground running and your ability to learn quickly and work on disparate and overlapping tasks that will define your success. You will be working closely with business partners, UI/UX designers and other SDEs to build new Amazon Prime customer-facing experiences.

About the teams

The EU Prime Savings team (informally, Prime Xclusive Genie, PXG) is dedicated to enhancing the "Prime-Value" proposition for EU Amazon Prime members. The mission focuses on increasing annual-savings for Prime members through comprehensive promotional strategies. We aim to create more engaging shopping experiences throughout the year, not just during major sales events. The ultimate goal is to ensure Prime members receive exceptional value from their subscription, leading to increased customer loyalty and higher spending levels. This transformation of the Prime shopping experience aims to create a more compelling and financially rewarding membership program that matches or exceeds customer expectations.

The EU Prime Speed team is dedicated to enhancing the convenience of speed for customers. We have a suite of systems which assesses the impact on speed increases on Prime value and work with last mile transportation technology to build infrastructure that supports higher speed for Prime customers. We also have programs that enable EU customers to get a flavour of Prime - experience benefits of Prime value and choose to join Prime program. We aspire to build Prime shopping experience as a super convenient, compelling and financially rewarding membership program that exceeds customer expectations.

Key job responsibilities
• Design and build large-scale systems that empowers Amazon Prime customers to have seamless shopping experience
• Own the delivery of end-to-end, full stack solutions.
• Make sound engineering decisions and contributing to the continuous software development practices/improvements.
• Build experimentation frameworks to drive continuous testing new marketing experiences.

A day in the life
An SDE2 in this role is responsible for end-to-end project ownership and developing full-stack solutions, ranging from building scalable software to process large volumes of data to creating big-data platforms for customer-level data analysis. They work with cross-functional teams, including UI/UX designers and product/marketing managers, to build new customer experiences. They contribute to the team's design and code review processes. The role is expected to help accelerate the Amazon Prime shopping customer experience by contributing to both backend and frontend technologies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
- Experience in professional, non-internship software development
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
