Job summary

AVEVA, Cambridge/Home Office hybrid, is seeking a Software Development Engineer to maintain and enhance desktop and cloud applications within the E3D development group, delivering features in scrum teams.

You will design, develop, test, debug, and refactor components, collaborating with Product Owners and customers to deliver high-quality software on a regular cadence while promoting automated testing and modern engineering practices.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in one or more listed languages (Fortran, C#, C++, PML).
  • Familiarity with source control systems (GIT) and automated build pipelines (Azure DevOps).
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum practices and working in scrum teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and implement functional features as per Product Owner requests.
  • Analyse, investigate and debug issues found internally or by customers.
  • Drive quality through automated testing, architectural refactoring, and shared best practices.
  • Demonstrate sound decision making on workloads to ensure timely delivery.

Location: Home Office OR Cambridge (Hybrid)

The Job

As part of the E3D development group, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing applications that support both desktop and cloud solutions. You will work in scrum teams aligned to our customers’ engineering disciplines, contributing to consistent delivery and modernisation of our product’s extensive feature set.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and implement functional features as per Product Owner requests.
  • Analyse, investigate and debug issues found both internally (by the team) and externally (by customers).
  • Drive quality throughout our product by taking the initiative on automated testing, architectural refactoring, and communal best practices.
  • Demonstrate sound decision making on individual and team workloads to ensure it is delivered in a timely manner.
Desired Experience
  • Confidence in one (or more) of the following languages: Fortran, C#, C++, PML.
  • Awareness of industrial engineering and/or factory plant design.
  • Comfortable with source control systems (GIT) and automated build pipelines (Azure DevOps).
  • Practices Agile and Scrum methodologies
