Job summary

HM Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is seeking a capable Software Developer to join the Digital and Technology Services team. You will collaborate with researchers, product managers, designers, and architects to build secure, scalable government software that improves public services.

Expect to work with Java backend and Node.js frontend, plus CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure. You will contribute to a modern tech stack, participate in design reviews, and mentor juniors while

Qualifications

• Experience in modern object-oriented programming and your tech stack.
• Develop enterprise/public facing applications.
• Knowledge of HTTP and at least one web framework and one relational DB.
• Awareness of security in software development and data handling.

Responsibilities

• Write, amend, refactor and document code for complex programs and lead when required.
• Continuously learn and adapt to changes in the tech stack.
• Ensure security controls and compliance across products.
• Support and maintain software in live environments and deploy updates.
