Job summary

Government Recruitment Service in Norwich is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join the Cabinet Office Digital’s Technical Live Services team. You will design, develop, and implement high-value, secure digital services for UK citizens, focusing on reliability, security, and scalability.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary agile teams, drive CI/CD pipelines, mentor peers, and occasionally travel to government sites to support workshops and deployments.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in designing, developing, and implementing customised solutions for critical business functions.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary agile teams, technical architects and stakeholders.
• Strong focus on reliability, security and scalability of public-facing platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, run, and improve secure, accessible digital services aligned with government standards.
• Write clean, secure, and well-tested code with clear documentation.
• Help establish robust development and deployment pipelines (CI/CD) for sites and services.
• Adhere to internal processes while advising others on software standards and best practices.
• Deliver integrated, user-focused solutions across multiple teams and platforms.
• Support and maintain live software, using diagnostics to troubleshoot faults.
• Package and deploy software releases; some activities may occur outside core hours.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and mentor peers to transfer skills.
• Travel between government sites for meetings and workshops as required.
