Overview of the role:
- This position offers an opportunity to support the delivery of customer solutions for vehicle production line testing, working directly with customers and collaborating with development teams, suppliers, and engineering departments.
Detailed Activities:
- Analyze customer requirements to derive technical solutions.
- Develop accurate estimates for proposed solutions.
- Design and develop system and sub-system components.
- Debug legacy code to resolve functional or reliability issues.
- Adhere to Bosch Quality Assurance Processes, participating in technical reviews.
- Work on products including VCATS Server (databases, web interfaces, manufacturing system interfaces), vehicle protocols, etc.
Essential skills and experience:
- Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent industrial experience.
- Proven experience in all stages of software development, including requirements capture and testing.
- Skills in software design, detailed specifications, and API documentation.
- Experience developing new functionalities from requirements.
- Effective prioritization and organization skills, with regular status reporting.
- Teamwork experience with internal and external customers.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Deep experience in Java SE, Eclipse PDE, C++/C#, RESTful web services, Jenkins, Maven, JUnit, Docker, authentication protocols, and version control systems.
- Additional skills considered advantageous include C++, C#, Visual Studio, Windows development, XML, JavaScript, AngularJS, REACT, ASP.NET MVC, encryption protocols, HTML5, SQL, WiX, Python, and Linux.
Education:
- Bachelor or Master in Electrical/Electronic, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the automotive industry and technology.
Key Stakeholders:
Project and Product Management Teams, Software Engineering.
Travel:
Travel to customer sites within the UK and abroad, estimated at 10-20% of work time.
