Job summary

SAS in Glasgow is offering a Software Developer Intern program for Summer 2027. The internship spans 10–12 weeks in a hybrid Glasgow office, with teams across R&D like Model Manager, Analytics Lifecycle, Intelligent Decisioning, Compute Engineering, GenAI Platform and Analytics.

Interns gain hands-on experience on real projects and join a vibrant intern community. You will work with experienced engineers on feature design, development and testing, contributing to technology used by customers

Qualifications

• Penultimate year bachelor student in STEM faculties.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Available to start in May 2027 for a 10–12 week internship.
• Proficient in at least one modern programming language.
• Familiar with basic computing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new features.
• Collaborate with product management, UX and UI designers to define features.
• Draft technical specifications and designs with development teams.
• Implement new product features and code changes.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to quality software.
• Improve testing automation and integrate into the delivery pipeline.

About the Program

Join one of the most exciting student opportunities in technology and innovation!Each year, SAS welcomes a select group of interns to join us for a 10-12 week summer experience. In 2027, we will be hiring8 R&D Interns in our Glasgow office across a variety of teams.As SAS's R&D hub in EMEA, Glasgow brings together talented engineers, developers, and innovators who build technology used by customers around the world. As an intern, you'll work alongside experienced teams on real projects, gain hands‑on technical experience, and contribute to solutions used by our customers from day one.You'll also become part of a vibrant intern community that extends beyond the summer internship. Alongside your fellow Summer Interns, you'll connect with year‑round interns and recent graduates who began their careers through the same program. Many have chosen to continue their journey with SAS, reflecting the valuable learning opportunities, mentorship, and career growth the internship provides.

Required qualifications

• You are a penultimate year bachelor's student in one of the STEM Faculties.
• Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
• You are available to start the internship in 2027 late May and continue through the summer for 10-12 weeks.
• You have good programming skills, in at least 1 modern programming language.
• You are familiar with basic computing concepts.
• You’re curious, passionate, authentic, and accountable. These are our valuesand influence everything we do.
