Job summary

Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council is seeking two Software Developers to support its Digital Solutions Development Team within the ICT and Digital directorate. The roles involve delivering software solutions to support the Council’s digital strategy, working with internal and external stakeholders, and delivering high-profile digital processes and services to improve customer experience.

You will contribute to agile delivery, assist in website development and content support, and mentor

Qualifications

Proven programming skills in a range of languages, especially JavaScript.
Ability to scope a project’s requirements and effectively design and implement solutions.
Ability to devise and implement a test plan to ensure resilience before deployment.
Strong communication and user engagement skills across project teams.

Responsibilities

Scope, design and deliver software solutions to support the Council’s Digital Strategy.
Liaise with stakeholders to define requirements and develop bespoke code for digital processes.
Work autonomously in an agile manner to develop digital processes and services delivering excellent customer experience.
Assist in developing the Council’s website, supporting content and improving digital processes for 24/7 accessibility.
Provide mentoring within the team on software development and low code development.
Ensure digital services are available 24/7/365 with minimal impact on customer access.
