SOFTWARE DEVELOPER / OXFORDSHIRE / UP TO £45,000 & GREAT BENEFITS

Alces Flight designs and develops innovative software for AI & HPC/supercomputer systems across the UK. We advocate open-source software and community-driven development. Our customers include academic/research institutions, banking, manufacturing, and Formula One.

Due to recent investment, we are expanding into Europe and the US and are looking for a highly motivated Software Developer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research, design, and implement new software programs
• Develop and integrate existing software platforms
• Engage with innovative software technologies and methodologies
• Design, implement, and test software solutions
• Own and deliver your projects responsibly
• Work with large-scale AI systems, supercomputers, and emerging IaaS technologies
• Perform small, frequent deployments
• Primarily work with Ruby on Rails, using other technologies as appropriate

What You’re Good At:

• Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Ruby, Python
• Ability to work independently and in teams with a proactive attitude
• Interest and skills in open-source software and Linux environments
• Problem-solving skills; understanding multiple solutions for business problems
• Full-stack web development experience with Ruby or similar and client-side technologies
