Job summary

Amazon.com, Inc. in the United Kingdom is seeking a Software Development Engineer intern for the Ring Video team.

You will collaborate across disciplines to design and bring to market innovative products and services, building scalable, real-time streaming features. You will work with Swift and WebRTC to power native iOS/Android apps, contribute to distributed systems, and gain hands-on experience with modern development practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or holding a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
• Strong programming fundamentals in at least one major language.
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, and OO design.
• Graduation between Aug 2026 and Nov 2026, or within the last 24 months.
• Previous technical internship or project experience.
• Familiar with Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Knowledge of video encoding and streaming standards.
• Experience building native iOS or Android apps, Swift emphasized.

About the team

The Ring Video app team owns the media streaming experiences across the Ring and Blink smart home applications. The team builds native iOS and Android applications using Swift and WebRTC to deliver real-time video streaming to millions of customers worldwide.

• Are enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related STEM fields
• Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant field
• Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language such as Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript
• Experience with data structure implementation, basic algorithm development, and/or object-oriented design principles
• Expected graduation between August 2026 - November 2026, OR graduated within the last 24 months
• Experience from previous technical internship(s) or demonstrated project experience
• Experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipeline implementation
• Experience with video encoding and streaming media standards
• Experience building Android or iOS applications
• Understanding of mobile app architecture patterns (MVVM, clean architecture, or modular design)
• Experience developing native iOS applications using Swift
