Software Dev Engineer II, Amazon Payment Products

Looking for a Software Development Engineer to be part of a dynamic environment within Amazon, building innovative global payments products and solutions.

The Amazon Payments team at Amazon India Development Center, Bangalore, manages all Amazon-branded payment offerings globally. These rapidly growing offerings include Amazon Co-Branded Credit Cards, Amazon and Branded Gift Cards, Shop with Points, and more, providing innovative payment experiences both on and off Amazon.

This role offers an opportunity to build a strong patent portfolio, define, and implement extensible solutions supporting global and regional payment protocols and workflows. It is a critical program with high leadership visibility and significant business impact.

The ideal developer should have a strong understanding of computer fundamentals and practical experience in building full-stack, large-scale distributed systems, especially web-based applications and services at massive scale.

Key job responsibilities

1. Define, design, and implement multi-tier distributed software applications.
2. Estimate effort, plan, and implement system changes meeting requirements for functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability.
3. Design, code, and test major features, collaborating with team members to deliver complex changes.
4. Collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple teams across the organization.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• 3+ years of experience supporting title development, release, or live ops in the Video Games Industry.
• Experience programming with at least one software language.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
