Job summary

Experis UK is seeking a Software and Data Engineer in the West Midlands to own critical applications, data pipelines and system integrations. The role is office-based, permanent, with a salary in the £45,000–£50,000 range and a Monday–Thursday 8am–5pm schedule (Friday 8am–1pm).

You will tackle live technical issues while delivering long-term improvements across the business. You will develop and improve applications using Python, FastAPI, React and TypeScript, build data pipelines and SQL

Qualifications

  • Strong commercial experience with Python and SQL.
  • Experience with APIs, data integrations and cloud deployment.
  • Good knowledge of data pipelines and data modelling.
  • Experience supporting live, business critical systems.
  • An understanding of testing, CI/CD and release processes.
  • Clear communication and confident stakeholder management.
  • A background in SAP or other ERP systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve applications using Python, FastAPI, React and TypeScript.
  • Build and support data pipelines, DAGs and SQL models.
  • Work with BigQuery, MongoDB and Google Cloud.
  • Develop APIs and integrations between operational and ERP systems.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability.
  • Automate manual processes and improve data quality.
  • Support testing, deployments, monitoring and code reviews.
  • Turn business requirements into practical technical solutions.
  • Identify valuable opportunities to use automation and AI.
