Job summary

Computappoint is seeking a Software Engineer to help deliver a strategic data platforms and automation programme for a major financial services organisation. You will design and develop scalable ETL pipelines, build APIs and search interfaces, and contribute to automation and data analytics capabilities.

The role requires strong Python and/or PowerShell skills, frontend experience with React, and experience with MSSQL or Oracle, data archiving, and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience developing data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Strong Python and/or PowerShell skills.
• Front-end development experience with React.
• Experience with MSSQL, Oracle, or similar databases.
• Knowledge of search and indexing platforms and data archiving.
• Familiarity with Power BI or data visualisation tools.
• Ansible or infrastructure automation experience.

Software Engineer (Data Platforms & Automation)

• Up to £650 per day (Inside IR35)

Are you a Software Engineer who enjoys solving complex data challenges and building scalable enterprise solutions?

We're working with a major financial services organisation seeking an experienced engineer to help deliver a strategic data archiving, search, and analytics platform. This is a highly visible programme with significant investment, offering the opportunity to work across software engineering, data engineering, automation, and infrastructure.

The Opportunity

You'll play a key role in designing and developing solutions that ingest, transform, archive, search, and analyse large volumes of structured and unstructured data. Working within a collaborative engineering environment, you'll help build scalable, automated platforms that support critical business and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable ETL and data ingestion pipelines
• Build APIs and search interfaces for enterprise data platforms
• Develop automation and self-service capabilities to streamline onboarding processes
• Create analytics and reporting solutions that provide meaningful business insights
• Contribute to the design and optimisation of underlying platform infrastructure
• Work closely with engineers, architects, product teams, and business stakeholders
• Produce high-quality, well-tested, and well-documented code
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement across the platform
• Strong experience with Python and/or PowerShell
• Front-end development experience, ideally using React
• Strong background building ETL processes and data pipelines
• Experience working with structured and unstructured datasets
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Comfortable working across multiple technologies and disciplines
