Job summary

Leonardo DRS in Basildon is seeking a software professional with extensive experience in developing complex software systems and sensor/effector integration, focusing on C2/GUI aspects. You will work with Solution Architects to influence architectures and support bid activity in defence contexts.

Desirable background includes Human Factors and inter-system data sharing, with a hybrid work pattern (3 days in office).

Qualifications

• Extensive background in developing complex software systems.
• Experience in specification and development of Sensor/Effector systems, including C2/GUI.
• Human Factors experience is beneficial.
• Significant knowledge interfacing software systems for data sharing.
• Ability to collaborate with Solution Architects to shape architectures.
• Experience creating white papers to influence stakeholders.
• Experience in the defence industry is essential.

Job description

Salary: £76,000 - 94,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require an extensive background in the development of complex software systems and a high awareness of software development technologies.
• We require significant experience in the specification and development of Sensor/Effector systems, including C2/GUI aspects.
• Experience considering Human Factors would be hugely beneficial.
• We require significant experience and knowledge of interfacing software systems to achieve integrated capability and data sharing.
• We need the ability to work alongside Solution Architects, providing expertise that helps shape overall system architectures.
• We require experience developing white papers to shape and steer thinking within the stakeholder community.
• Experience working within the defence industry is essential.
• Experience using tools such as Visual Studio (C#/C++), DOORS, Cameo, Rhapsody and The Mathworks is desirable.
• A good attitude and willingness to learn is important.
